About
My name is izn. I’m a contemporary artist working with needle, thread, and memory.
Since 2018, embroidery has become my primary language. I don’t use it in a traditional sense. Instead, it is a free, intimate, and instinctive gesture. I exhibit my works in international shows. However, my practice has much deeper roots. It lives in family fabrics and fragments of daily life. It dwells in the traces that time leaves on objects.

Alongside my art, I create small series of handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces. These works are born from a slow and mindful process. They are fragments of a personal language. Each piece is a tangible expression of my way of inhabiting the world.
Every object you find here is part of my path. What I make carries the time of care and a certain density of meaning. My work is made of matter, history, and intuition. These pieces are meant for those who seek authenticity. They are for people who wish to own something intimately lived and transformed.
Welcome to my visible workshop.
Bio
Born in Naples (1968) and based in Rome, I began my creative journey graduating from IED Rome in 1994. For years, I practiced as a freelance graphic designer under the pseudonym Interzona, collaborating extensively with the art world across web design, photography, and set design.
I have always possessed an eclectic spirit: over time, I have explored various artistic languages—from photographic collage to ceramics—a path that naturally led me toward mixed media. This constant evolution culminated in 2018 when I discovered contemporary embroidery, embracing it as my primary medium and the definitive synthesis of my current artistic practice.
Exhibition History
In recent years, my research in contemporary embroidery art has led me to participate in numerous international exhibitions. 2026 marks a moment of profound reflection on temporality with the international group show UN TEMPO ALTRO – Estetica della lentezza in Narni and the IGREEN project at the Museo del Fiume in Nazzano, both curated by Barbara Pavan.
My work has frequently found a home in Umbria and Tuscany: in 2025 with ṬILISMĀN in Perugia and, previously, in prestigious appointments such as the International Biennial of Contemporary Fiber Art in Valtopina and the exhibition Appunti su questo tempo in Sansepolcro. My artistic practice has also intersected with European projects, such as Verba Creant for The Europe Challenge, and evocative site-specific installations like Naturales Quaestiones in Bobbio.
Key milestones in my career include selections for the XS Project (Rome and Maniago) promoted by ArteMorbida, and participation in group exhibitions such as Animals in Abruzzo and Unclassifiable during the Todi Festival. My work also engages in theoretical dialogue, such as the 2023 panel on “Literature and Fiber Art.” These recent stages represent the evolution of a creative vision rooted in the early 2000s, beginning with my first exhibitions in Rome and across Italy.
