Description
Created in March 2026, this memory box is a tribute to the heritage of sensitivity and wonder that every adult must preserve to avoid the risk of spiritual withering. At the heart of the work are seven vintage photographs found at a flea market, hand-embroidered with vintage silk and cotton threads. A different printed crown has been placed above the head of each child, establishing the moral and poetic authority of every subject. These images rest on a handkerchief entirely covered in green glass beads, which in turn lies upon a bed of gravel, evoking the sounds and memories of the artist’s own childhood.
La luccicanza is part of the Reperti temporali (Temporal Finds) series, where each stitched fragment represents an inner memory preserved in physical form. The creative process develops from found objects, lived fabrics, and autobiographical suggestions. Each of these works is unique and unrepeatable.
The exterior structure presents a deliberate tactile contrast: the weight of the Siena stone on the lid and the rigor of a dictionary page are set against the soft, welcoming green wool base. By moving the box, the subtle sound of the loose stones inside transforms the piece into a living, interactive experience. Every object is shipped in custom-made packaging, protected by natural materials and plastic-free. To preserve the integrity of the vintage materials, it is recommended to store the work in a dry environment away from direct sunlight. Handle with care to keep the poetic microcosm contained within the box intact.
